Middle of November.  Back to Sudbury tomorrow.  The staff training is complete.   Hoping to get the easel out next week and do some painting.  There are two time frames throughout the year when my brushes collect a bit of dust.  November,  December and May, June.   These are the two busiest periods for our retail operation.

I certainly miss my painting during these times.  I enjoy my work, dealing with customers, managing staff, buying products, all aspects of running a business.  If i had a choice however i would paint all the time.

Having a retail outlet has provided opportunities for me as an artist.  It has allowed me to display my art in a small gallery portion of the store. This has been a gift.

This is a sample of my reproductions - art cards (4"x6" 10.2x15.2cm); 5"x7" (12.7x17.8cm) print with archival mat and backing 8"x10" (20.32x24.50cm); 8"x10" (20.32x24.50cm) print with archival mat and backing 11"x14" (28.7x36.8cm).

I put everything together myself - enjoy the process and hope you enjoy looking at my paintings.

My etsy shop is now open for business.  Etsy.ca - where I sell Limited Edition Prints of my originals and Art Cards which can be personalized.  My shop is under the name of CockburnStudio.

Originally I had thought of keeping the two separate - selling my originals on my blog and selling my prints on Etsy.  With much consideration I decided that it was pointless to divide the two - I am one artist, enjoy simplicity and therefore should not complicate things where they do not need to be.

Setting up on Etsy has been a challenge - one that I have faced head on.  I have never considered myself a technical person, and never will, but I have persevered and studied, read and researched, and will continue to do so.  Enjoy.  AND a huge thank you to everyone for their support.
