Thoughts about my paintings

2nd of July, 2010 - where has the time gone? In Temagami for the last two months, busy getting ready for the summer season. In the last month I have had the opportunity to paint in the sun room which has been a delight. I do not have access to the internet in Temagami therefore cannot post any of my recent work. When I return home for a few days of downtime my husband and I are busy cutting grass, going to the camp on the island and resting... I do miss my routine of painting in the mornings but life is all about balance. This downtime has given me the opportunity to focus on my previous works and what I can do to improve my techniques, without putting much to practice yet. I have come to the conclusion that I need to grey my colors more and have more contrast within my paintings, and yes perfect the values. I will put this to the test and see what happens. Hopefully I will now have more time to paint on a regular basis, however short the sessions will be. We hope to finish up the inside of our camp before the fall and this is very exciting indeed. The island will be a little paradise where I can calm the mind, meditate and focus on nature's bountiful beauties.
